On Valentine's Day, we picked Carly's Mom and Dad up from the airport. She went through the evening not feeling really well. Not thinking anything of it, we (I) went ahead and went to bed. At around 1:00 in the A.M., Carly shook my leg. After I jumped up confused, Carly says, "Sweetheart, I think I'm in labor." From my point of view, panic immediately set in. I could basically see my heart beating. Carly was calm. Calm as she possibly could be. I ran down the hallway, in my boxer briefs to wake Mr. and Mrs. Mac up. We were told to go to the hospital when Carlys contractions were 5 minutes apart. When I timed them, they were 2 minutes, 1 and a half minutes and 2 minutes and 15 seconds. I literally almost threw up. We decided to go on and go to the hospital. I am not a fast driver however when your wife is almost ready to give birth to your son, you drive faster than normal. She also informed me that I was okay to run a couple red lights. (Thank God it was 1:30 in the morning) Then this happened:
Got to the hospital
Checked In
blah blah blah
at 11:06 a.m., Brady was born
at 11:15, I was still crying
I got to push him to the nursery
After staring at Brady through the glass for 20 minutes, I remembered Carly was upstairs and ran back up to her
Hospital x 2 days
Came home for the first time with a freakin BABY!
The first 6 weeks have been amazing. I have no idea how many times Brady has made Carly and I smile. This whole parenthood thing is hard work but it is the most rewarding thing in my life. To look in his eyes and know that he is me + Carly is pretty amazing. Life has forever been changed in the best way possible and we know that we have been blessed!
I will try not to make every post that I put up here about Brady but I'm making no promises... He's a pretty awesome little dude!
Over my spring break, my parents and my brother and his wife came down. I'm pretty sure that everyone was fairly impressed with Brady.
Here are a few pictures of the last 6 weeks...
